Application of the QuantiFERON-TB Access test in the diagnosis of latent tuberculosis infection in the community

Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of the QuantiFERON-TB Access test in diagnosing latent tuberculosis infection in Duong Kinh District, Hai Phong City in 2022. Meterials and Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 273 blood samples collected from 273 individuals suspected of having latent tuberculosis infection in Duong Kinh District, Hai Phong City. Results: The accuracy of the QIAreach assay was 79.7%. The sensitivity of the QIAreach assay was 98.6%, and its specificity was 72.7%. The positive predictive value of the QIAreach assay was 57.1%, and the negative predictive value was 99.3%. Conclusions: Further research with a larger sample size is needed to provide more precise estimates of the accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the QIAreach test.
