Drug use in the treatment of gastroduodenal ulcers at Hai Phong Children's Hospital in 2021

Abstract

Objective: Analyze the current status of drug use in the treatment of gastroduodenal ulcers (PGU) at Hai Phong Children's Hospital in 2021. Method: Retrospective description of medical records of patients with peptic ulcers treated as inpatients at Hai Phong Children's Hospital in 2021. The appropriateness of drug use was assessed based on the Guidelines for the treatment of H.p in children and adolescents of the European Society of Gastroenterology - Hepatology and Nutrition 2016 [1], Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of some common diseases in children of the Ministry of Health 2015 [2]. Results: General characteristics, in 313 research records, patients with gastritis (PGU) accounted for the highest rate of 77.0%, the number of patients with Helicobacter pylori (H.p) test results (+) was 81.8%. Among the H.p treatment regimens, the 3-drug regimen was the most common (71.4%), of which the antibiotic Metronidazole was the most used (32.6%). The proton pump inhibitor group Esomeprazole was used in most patients (93.6%). The drug with dosage indications that did not comply with the recommendations was most commonly Tetracycline (24.5%). The most common drug-drug interaction was tetracyclin-Bismuth (66.8%).
