Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 19 patients with 30 teeth indicated for immediate Implant placement in the posterior region at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. The study period was from January 2019 to September 2020, aiming to describe the clinical and radiographic characteristics of patients indicated for immediate Implant placement in the posterior region. Information was recorded according to the medical record template, patient interviews, and follow-up examination forms. The results showed that among the 19 patients indicated for immediate Implant placement in the posterior region, 52.6% were female and 47.4% were male. The average age was 43.5 ± 12.8 years, with the highest proportion (52.6%) in the age group of 41-59 years. The most common cause of tooth damage was periapical inflammation, accounting for 53.4%. The proportion of patients with a beneficial jaw bone height of over 4mm in the affected region was 96.7%. The bone density in the implant placement area, which was favorable for Implant insertion, was 100% of bone types D2 and D3. These characteristics will help the doctor choose an appropriate treatment plan, implant design, surgical approach, healing time, and design the load-bearing capacity of the future restoration.
