Depression, anxiety, stress status and some related factors of the first year medical students at Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in 2024.
Abstract
Depression, anxiety, stress are influenced by many factors. This study was aimed to describe the rate of anxiety, stress, and depression in the first-year medical students of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in year of 2023-2024 and some related factors. This descriptive cross-sectional study conducted from April to August 2024, among 464 first-year medical students. The results showed that the incidence of anxiety, stress, and depression of the objects was respectively 37.5%; 20% and 45.9%. Depression related to the risk of failing or having failed courses, not having enough time to self-study, financial difficulties, relationship conflicts, self-study time < 4 hours/day and internet using time outside of studying > 3 hours/day. Anxiety related to insufficient time for self-study, financial difficulties. Stress are affected by the risk of failing or having failed a course, not having enough time to self-study, financial difficulties, sleeping time before exams < 6 hours/day, relationship conflicts.
