Results of treatment of single-level lower cervical disc herniation by anterior cervical discectomy and fusion

Abstract

Objective: Evaluation of the results of treatment of single-level lower cervical disc herniation by anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. Subjects anh methods: Prospective study 28 patients with confirmed diagnosis of single-storied cervical by anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. Results: Postoperative, pain level improved with the mean VAS score preoperative 7,0 ± 0,94, re-examination 6 months postoperative reduced to 2,32 ± 1,16. Spinal function 6 months postoperative improved better than preoperative with the average NDI soce of 18,93 ± 9,46 and 40,36 ± 11,54. Spinal cord function recovered well with the preoperative JOA score of 9,46 ± 1,05 and the 6 months postoperative period 13,08 ± 1,38. Conclusions: The patients who had a surgery had good clinical improvement.
