Clinical and paraclinical characteristics and treatment results by acupuncture combined with acupressure massage in patients with gastric ulcer at Hai Phong Traditional Medicine Hospital in 2024 - 2025
Abstract
Objectives: Clinical and paraclinical characteristics of patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers at Hai Phong Traditional Medicine Hospital in 2024-2025. Treatment results using acupuncture combined with acupressure massage in patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers at Hai Phong Traditional Medicine Hospital in 2024-2025. Subject: 40 patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers treated at Hai Phong Traditional Medicine Hospital from September 2024 to April 2025. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study. Results: The common clinical symptoms were epigastric pain (100%); The percentage of the patients with spleen-stomach deficiency cold pattern and Qi stagnation pattern was 45% and 55%, respectively. After treatment, clinical symptoms such as epigastric pain, belching, heartburn, loss of appetite, bloating and indigestion improved significantly (p < 0.05). The average VAS score decreased from 5.05 ± 1.2 to 1.73 ± 1.01 after treatment, which was statistically significant with p < 0.05. Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with acupressure massage has the effect of improving clinical symptoms and improving VAS scores in patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers (p < 0.05).
