THE STRENGTH OF WEAK TIES IN AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT NETWORKS IN A RURAL MIGRANT COMMUNITY IN SOUTHEASTERN VIETNAM

Abstract

Through employing social network analysis methodology and the theoretical framework proposed by Granovetter regarding the “Strength of Weak Ties,” this article presents the elements that constitute connections within the agricultural support network of a rural migrant community situated in the Southeast. Consequently, it engages in a discourse on the potential applicability of Granovetter’s theory in diverse research contexts in the future, specifically to rural migrant community.
