Abstract
In the feudal period in general and in the Nguyen dynasty in particular, mandarins were considered a "main pillar" to help the king make policies and convey the policies to the people. Feudal kings based on Confucianism and Legalism to develop regulations and measures to ensure the implementation of the system of reward and punishment of mandarins. These regulations were institutionalized in the royal decrees and the Imperial Viet Law Code. The system of reward and punishment and its practical application contributed to encouraging fairness as well as strictly punishing the wrongdoings mandarins during the working process; as well as empower the Nguyen dynasty in the period of 1802-1884.
