Ẩn dụ ý niệm “bão Yagi là kẻ hủy diệt” (khảo sát trên bản tin của các trang báo điện tử Việt Nam)
Abstract
Conceptual metaphor is inherently a way of thinking of human beings. Any phenomenon in life is perceived and formed into a thinking notion. Recently, Typhoon Yagi, one of the strongest storms in history, has left behind huge losses that Vietnamese people recognized based on their inherent experiences. The author surveyed 200 articles in the news section of mainstream Vietnamese online newspapers and found that the conceptual metaphor STORM YAGI IS A DESTROYER stood out. The survey results show that there are 20 metaphorical references that frequently recur in thinking about the target domain STORM YAGI through the projection of the source domain DESTROYER. The value of this research result helps us understand the way of perceiving conceptual metaphors in general and the cognition of storm concepts in particular.
