In the late 18th century, Dang Trong and Dang Ngoai fell into a serious crisis. The intense outbreak of the peasant movement was an important catalyst that created major changes in Dai Viet society. Although the political and social situation was unstable, this was the blooming period of great thinkers with the aspiration of “serve the country and contribute to society”, such as Le Quy Don, Le Huu Trac, and Ngo Thi Nham... Among them, La Son Phu tu Nguyen Thiep is a special character. His thoughts and actions reflected the mindset of an intellectual who was in tune with the times, promoting the use of his knowledge to save the country and help life rather than being blindly loyal to the King. Especially in his relationship with “The hero in plain clothing” Quang Trung, La Son Phu tu had a special relationship: he was both a servant, a teacher, and a confidant... and made a great contribution to the reign of King Quang Trung during the early days of building the dynasty.
