POVERTY REDUCTION ASSOCIATED WITH TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN ETHNIC MINORITY AREAS WITH FEW PEOPLE IN OUR COUNTRY

Abstract

Vietnam is a multi-ethnic country, with 54 ethnic groups living together, including 53 ethnic minorities. Most of the ethnic minorities live in remote areas such as the northern mountainous
provinces, the Central Highlands, the Mekong Delta... In recent years, our Party, State, National Assembly
and Government have paid great attention to and promulgated many policies for ethnic minorities in
general, including ethnic minorities with few people in particular, but due to difficult access conditions,
life has become difficult of many ethnic minority families to be much lower than that of urban and
lowland people. However, the living areas of ethnic minorities often have high biodiversity, attractive
natural landscapes, especially rich traditional cultures. This is the advantage and potential to build tourism
development orientations, community tourism and to be one of the measures to contribute to poverty
reduction in a sustainable way in this area.
