Plei Ơi là một địa danh đặc biệt gắn với huyền thoại về các vị Vua Lửa (Pơtao Apui), nơi lửa được xem là biểu tượng của sự sống, ánh sáng và sức mạnh bảo vệ cộng đồng. Các Vua Lửa sở hữu quyền năng siêu nhiên thông qua “gươm thần”, có thể điều khiển thời tiết, mang lại mùa màng tốt tươi và cuộc sống no ấm. Vua Lửa giữ vai trò trung tâm trong các sinh hoạt nghi lễ, duy trì trật tự tâm linh và đời sống văn hóa của người Jrai. Di tích Plei Ơi hiện còn lưu giữ tương đối nguyên vẹn hệ thống hiện vật và không gian văn hóa đặc trưng của các vị Vua Lửa. Đây là sự kết hợp hài hòa giữa giá trị vật thể và phi vật thể, phản ánh chiều sâu lịch sử - văn hóa của cộng đồng. Trong bối cảnh hiện đại hóa và toàn cầu hóa, việc bảo tồn và phát huy giá trị khu di tích Plei Ơi không chỉ góp phần gìn giữ bản sắc văn hóa truyền thống mà còn hướng tới phát triển bền vững cộng đồng.

Abstract:
Plei Ơi is a distinctive site associated with the legends of the Fire Kings (Pơtao Apui) of the Jrai people, where fire is revered as a symbol of life, light, and protective power for the community. According to traditional beliefs, the Fire Kings possess supernatural authority through a “sacred sword,” enabling them to control the weather, ensure bountiful harvests, and secure a prosperous life for the people. Within the socio-spiritual structure of the Jrai community, the Fire Kings hold a central position, presiding over major rituals and contributing to the maintenance of cultural order and collective belief systems. Today, the Plei Ơi heritage site retains a relatively intact system of artifacts and a distinctive cultural space associated with the Fire Kings, reflecting a harmonious integration of tangible and intangible values. This serves as vivid evidence of the historical and cultural depth of the Jrai community in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. In the context of modernization and globalization, the preservation and promotion of the values of the Plei Ơi heritage site not only contribute to safeguarding traditional cultural identity but also support sustainable development, linking heritage conservation with local socio-economic development.
