THE CULTURAL SPACE OF THE MEKONG DELTA IN KIEN GIANG’S POETRY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF CONTENT
Abstract
The cultural space of the Mekong Delta in the poetry of Kien Giang (Ha Huy Ha) is a distinctive realm. It is not only a geographical landscape but also a profound layer of cultural depth imbued with identity. Within the theoretical framework of artistic space and regional cultural traits, this paper explores three major dimensions in terms of content: the spiritual space reflected through the archetypal image of Southern people; the culinary space vividly evoked in rustic dishes of rivers and gardens; and the folkloric space, present in every breath of the land and its inhabitants. From these perspectives, the paper affirms that Kien Giang’s poetry both carries the imprint of geo-cultural identity and serves as a reservoir of collective memory of the Mekong Delta, contributing to the flow of modern Vietnamese literature.
