Abstract

This article focuses on analyzing the current situation and challenges of applying the Circular Economy (CE) in agricultural production, highlighting the necessity and importance of transitioning from the traditional Linear Economy model (based on 'take-make-consume-dispose') to the Circular Economy in Vietnam, especially in the agricultural sector. The conventional linear economic model has been causing severe consequences such as resource depletion, pollution, and environmental degradation. The article also emphasizes the vital role of Vietnam's agriculture sector and the urgency of implementing the Circular Economy to contribute to national stability and development. Successful transition requires the synchronized participation of all stakeholders, including the government, enterprises, and consumers. Practically, the paper points out various Circular Economy models currently being applied or having potential for development across Vietnam's agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors. Significantly, the authors and their colleagues propose several resource-guaranteeing solutions-covering Human Resources, Science and Technology, Finance, Information and Communication, and a Transition Roadmap-to accelerate the economy toward sustainable development.
