Enhancing the quality of autonomous education in national defense and security of hanoi metropolitan university

Abstract

National Defense and Security Education plays an important role in providing citizens with essential knowledge about national defense and security, thereby promoting the strength of great national unity and the patriotic traditions of the Vietnamese people. This subject is a compulsory component of the official curriculum for students from high school to university. This paper first analyzes the role of National Defense and Security Education for university students; second, it outlines the current situation of teaching this subject at Hanoi Metropolitan University; and third, it proposes several solutions to improve the quality of teaching National Defense and Security Education of Hanoi Metropolitan University. These proposed solutions also aim to enhance students’ sense of responsibility in the cause of national defense and development.
