STRATEGY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIETNAM’S LEGAL SYSTEM IN THE NEW DEVELOPMENT ERA

Abstract

Abstract: In the context of Vietnam entering a new development era with heightened demands for governance capacity and sustainable development, the formulation of a strategy for the development of the legal system has become imperative. This article analyzes the theoretical and practical foundations for building such a strategy based on the guiding viewpoints of the Party, with a view to identifying key orientations and major solutions for the development of Vietnam’s legal system. Employing methods of analysis and synthesis of political and legal documents, combined with a systemic approach, the article clarifies guiding principles, objectives, and development directions of the legal system across key sectors. The findings suggest that the legal system should be developed in a modern and coherent manner, closely linked with legislative reform, enhanced effectiveness of law enforcement, strengthened control of power, and the promotion of digital transformation. Accordingly, law is affirmed as a cornerstone of national governance and a key driver of rapid and sustainable development.
