Abstract
Social networks operate at many levels, affecting many aspects of people's livelihoods and lives. Labour and employment are one of the fields that most clearly shows the role and influence of social networks on the issue of information provision and the supply-demand connection in the labour market. Based on the survey results of the Nung ethnic group in two districts of Cao Loc (Lang Son province) and Trung Khanh (Cao Bang province), the article focuses on the role of social networks in creating livelihoods for cross border migrant workers as well as how those workers have used social networks to search, connect, select and reduce risks in their job search process
