Culinary tourism in Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province
Abstract
Gastronomy is considered a resource for tourism development, which not only satisfies tourists’ desires but also is a means of displaying, promoting and developing tourism and introducing traditional cultures of ethnic groups to people from other locales and countries. Products of gastronomy tourism have been brought to locales’ attention, bridging consuming and producing contracts and demand. This article provide data of culinary culture and the utilization of this resource for tourism development in Chau Thanh district (Ben Tre province) today. Recommendations for more appropriate uses of this cultural capital in tourism development in the future are discussed.
