The role of customs in building new rural communities in Cao Bang province.

Abstract

Traditional customs has existed and developed in diverse ways in Vietnam since the early age. Attched to each village and locale is a unique system of customs, which were constructed and transmitted through many generations, and became the code of conduct for individuals in the society. There have been many changes in the society today but customs still play an important role. Therefore, in the process of buiding new rural communities today, besides state law, it is necessary to think about how to promote and apply customs flexibly in order to enhance the advantages and values of ethnic customs.
