Abstract

In tradition, the roles of Co-tu women in the two communes Zuoih and Ta Po, Nam Giang district were farming, child-rearing, and domestic work. They hardly had the right to make any decisions related to family and community issues. Since resettling due to the Bung River 4 hydroelectric plant, Co-tu women are empowered with property rights (land, compensation money), and they have access to health care and education. Therefore, their roles and positions have been improved from voiceless to decision making the position, and they have more benefits. This article discusses the changes in Co-tu women’s roles in almost all aspects of their resettling life.
