Some Ethnic Groups’ Paper-making Craft in Northern Provinces and the Rising Problems

Abstract

There are quite a few paper-making craft villages of the Viet (Kinh) and some
other ethnic minorities in the Northern region of our country, from the Northern Delta to the
Northeast and Northwest regions. The paper-making craft of ethnic groups was born, has
existed, and developed based on specific historical and social factors. In turn, the paper
making craft has influenced and impacted several ethnic issues, both past and present. This
article focuses on presenting the basis for the formation and existence of the Viet, Dao, and
Nung ethnic groups' paper-making craft in the Northern region of our country and the
problems and challenges that these ethnic craft villages are facing.
