Role of Viet (Kinh) People in Development of Trade and Services in the Vietnam-China Borderland

Abstract

The activities of trade and services in the Vietnam-China border region have restored since 1989 and have expanded since the normalization of the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and China in 1991. The ethnicities in the Vietnam-China border region have played an important role in pushing up activities of trade and services and making contribution to change of economic face of this region. This article focuses on making clearer the role of Viet people in formation of trading centers and development of services in the Vietnam-China border region and pushing up cross-border trade and service relations as well as on the influences of Viet people in these economic activities.
