Promoting the Role of Lineages in Preservation of Values of the Yao Quan Chet’s Religious Beliefs

Abstract

Based on the characteristics of socio-cultural life of the Yao Quan Chet people, the research data of Yao ethnicity and the field research data collected in the Yao Quan Chet community in Quan Chu commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province, this article tries to answer the two following questions: i) the role of lineage as a subject of ethnic culture; and ii) the role of values of religious beliefs in preservation and promotion of cultural values of the Yao Quan Chet. Making clear the above-mentioned questions is very necessary for preservation and bringing into play traditional cultural values of the Yao Quan Chet at present.
