A Number of Basic Theories of Economic Anthropology
Abstract
The first viewpoints of economic anthropology appeared in the works of some scholars who laid foundation for the birth of anthropology such as Bronislaw K. Malinowski and Franz U. Boas but only to the middle of 19th century, economic anthropology became a real scientific specialization - it had its own objectives and quite independent theoretical system. The birth of economic anthropology was closely related to a long academic debate between two Formalist and Substantivist schools. The theoretical base of economic anthropology has the high interdisciplinary quality so that the theoretical viewpoints, approaches as well as studies directly related to this specialization are numerous, diverse, complicated and sometimes contradictory. Based on the general review of relative materials, this writing presents the basic viewpoints and theories as well as the research tendencies of economic anthropology
