Abstract
After nearly 10 years of deployment, the work of relocation, resettlement of Son La hydro-electric plant completed in December, 2013. Basically, the life of resettlers has been evaluated as better than that in the past but it still has not been stable and sustainable. Before the resettlement, the life of people mainly was attached to land plots, forests. After the resettlement, the reduction of resource of land, forest has made the life of resettlers disorderedly. The Vietnamese Communist Party and State have made great efforts to ensue enough of productive land for the resettled households but still there have been a lot of problems arisen in the process of land, forest allocation for the resettlers because the number of resettlers has been too large meanwhile the lineup of cadres has not met the requirements of land, forest allocation for the resettlers. At present, many relocated households still have contrived so as to develop sustainable production while the land resource has been limitary. Understanding clearly this issue, the Vietnamese Communist Party and State in general, the administration of Son La province in particular have been deploying very practical solutions so as to help the resettlers “settle down for long time and sustainment as soon as possible, make their contribution to pushing up the socio-economic development of Northwestern region of Vietnam”.
