The writing introduces the different conceptions and views of the Pơ tao personality of the domestic and foreign scholars. Of them, the author emphasizes on two scientists who had their works specialized on Pơ tao, namely Jacques Dournes, a French scholar and Nguyen Tan Dac, a Vietnamese scholar. These two scientists have sticked to the Central Highlands for many years so that they have respected and have loved the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) culture and life as their home villages. Their age and the time of publication of their works are not different much but in a certain level, they have the similarity in their approaches to research selection. The writing also suggests the deeper research questions of Pơ tao and influence of this personality on the Gia-rai ethnic minority community in the Central Highlands.
