Biến đổi văn hóa của các tộc người vùng Đông Bắc từ góc nhìn sử dụng ngôn ngữ
Tóm tắt
Through an analysis of language used in nine contexts at household and community levels, the author shows that the mother tongue used by the ethnic minorities in the Northeastern Vietnam has gradually deminished. The Nung, San Diu, and Tai ethnic groups tend to use bilingual language (Vietnamese and ethnic minority language) or in some cases only Vietnamese for communication with their families and the members of the ethnic group they belong to. Other important cultural practices such as weddings are increasingly using Vietnamese language. In the context of the decreasing use of minority languages, the author strongly suggests the need to develop bilingual language programs and effective and creative solutions to maintaining ethnic minority languages.
