This article introduces some marriage practices and rituals of the Ra-glai ethnic group based on a fieldwork study conducted in Khanh Vinh district, Khanh Hoa province. It notes that traditional marriage of the Ra-glai contains many features of matriarchy. But the Ra-glai’s contemporary marriage practices combine both matrilineal and patrilineal factors. There is also a slight decrease in the strictness of some traditions under  matriarchal marriage (i.e., Ra-glai people can get married with other ethnic groups; Ra-glai person is not required to marry the husband’s or wife’s brother or sister after her husband or his wife had died, etc.). Ra-glai men still have a role and some rights in the family and society.
