Tóm tắt
A common phenomenon wherein a large number of the Khmer workers decided to return to their home villages after migration in recent years resulted in their inadaptability to the changing environment at their destination. This study was conducted in Tri Ton district, where the number of Khmer returnees is highest in An Giang province. Research results show that the Khmer migrants returned to their homes because of many different reasons. Their return created huge pressure on livelihood of the migrants themselves and their families, due to increasing unemployment in rural areas, and the common psychological and physical wounds of the Khmer returnees when they reintegrate into the community. Most labor migrant returnees have not found any clear livelihood strategies for the future, while the state has had no effective solutions.
