Nghiên cứu về tộc người tại Bảo tàng Văn hóa các dân tộc Việt Nam
Tóm tắt
This article finds that research by the Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups, though still modest, has achieved encouraging results; hundreds of ethnographic research projects on ethnic culture are published, including many award winning works. However, the museum still has the following limitations: 1) There is no new research approach; the museum’s research did not examine each issue, which is essentially descriptive; 2) there are no specific strategies and goals; 3) the museum’s research only focuses on a few areas that are strengths of the museum: the study of museum artifacts and some community activities (rituals, festivals...). The museum is not interested in the mapping of ethnicity and there is an imbalance in the ethnic groups studied. This article also points out how to overcome the limitations of ethnic studies and ethnic culture and gives directions to the museum to further promote, in collaboration with partners, the study of ethnic culture at the museum.
