This article examines the dynamics of increasing religious followers, living facilities, as well as the metamorphosis into “weird religions” of some major religions in Dak Nong province between 2006 and the present. It indicates an increase in religious practices and hearsay, so much influenced by both objective and subjective factors, including the exploitative conspiracy of political forces, impacts beyond national borders and the rapid disappearance of traditional religions among ethnic minorities. The main trends for the religious dynamics in Dak Nong province in the near future include: the continued disappearance and weakening of traditional beliefs of ethnic minorities; the rapid increase of major religions, especially Protestantism; the increasing need for establishing new religions and the construction of places of worship or prayer; the appearance of many new religions; the growth of inter-regional and transnational religious relations.
