Tóm tắt

This study points out that today culture becomes an important factor directly involved in the process of economic development. To increase household income, the researched ethnic groups have applied many of their traditional cultural values such as local knowledge of agro-forestry, traditional handicrafts, and diversified non-agricultural activities based on the advantages of the border proximity. However, ethnic culture also has negative impacts on the socio-economic life of the ethnic groups, most evident in unplanned expenses, especially for weddings and funeral ceremonies. The fact shows that ethnic culture, mentality, and characteristics play a great role in the economic stabilization and development of the ethnic groups.
