The Earth Genie worship ceremony among the Viet people in the central area of Vietnam has been carried out annually with the aim to show their gratitude to the previous residents. The author found out that there is a historical relationship between the present and previous residents in the sacrifices, the praying words, and the celebration etiquettes. The previous residents are the ancestors of ethnic minority groups who are living in the highland of the central area and the ancestors of Cham people who are present in the southernmost region of the central area. The author supposed that the ceremony expresses the humanity value of Viet people, which is the moral code of this ethnic group.
