CURRENT SITUATION AND CHALLENGES OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN VIETNAMESE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

This study was conducted to assess the current situation and analyze challenges facing intellectual property in Vietnamese higher education institutions, thereby proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of intellectual property management. These solutions not only help protect authors' rights but also create favorable conditions for the sustainable development of higher education in the future, thereby contributing positively to a knowledge-based economy. Research results indicate challenges including intellectual property awareness, information management, copyright registration, the connection between higher education institutions and businesses, intellectual property management policies, technological developments, and intellectual property violations in the academic environment. These challenges have directly impacted the management and protection of intellectual property in Vietnamese higher education institutions today.
