Livelihood Development of Some Ethnic Groups in the Border Region of Dong Nai Province
Abstract
This article analyzes the current state of livelihoods among some ethnic groups in the border region of Dong Nai Province. The findings show that local livelihood activities include agricultural and non-agricultural livelihoods, as well as various forms of cross-border ones, which are organized and maintained in diverse ways to adapt to local socio-economic conditions. However, in the present context, these livelihood activities also face challenges, particularly those related to disparities in access to resources, economic position, and market opportunities among different ethnic groups. Amid such a situation, the article discusses some concerning issues in policy-making, aiming to stabilize economic life and promote sustainable livelihood development for ethnic communities in the VietnamCambodia border area of Dong Nai Province.
