Microscopical characteristics and qualitative analysis of phytochemical constituents of Lysimachia congestiflora Hemsl. and Lysimachia vietnamensis L.K. Phan & C.M. Hu
Abstract
The plant Lysimachia congestiflora Hemsl. collected in Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh province) and Lysimachia vietnamensis L.K. Phan et. C.M. Hu collected in Ham Yen district (Tuyen Quang province) were identified by their morphological characteristics in reference to those described in the literature. Also, the microscopical characteristics of their powders, transverse sections of the stem and leaf were described in detail and illustrated with pictures. By phytochemical screening flavonoids, saponins and tanins proved the main active constituents in both investigated Lysimachia species. Their methanol extracts were analyzed by TLC as well. The obtained results would be important database for microscopical identification and quality control of L. congestiflora Hemsl. and L. vietnamensis L. K. Phan & C. M. Hu in Vietnam.
