SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE MANAGEMENT CAPACITY OF ENTERPRISES PARTICIPATING IN BUSINESS ACTIVITIES OF OCOP PRODUCTS IN QUANG NINH PROVINCE

In recent times, despite a significant increase in the number of businesses engaged in OCOP products in Quang Ninh Province, the overall quality and competitiveness of these enterprises remain low. One of the fundamental reasons is the limited management capacity, particularly in company management. Based on practical surveys, this article deeply analyzes the current status of management capacity in these enterprises from various perspectives. It evaluates the achievements, identifies the limitations, and proposes several solutions to enhance the management capacity of businesses involved in OCOP products in Quang Ninh Province.

FACTORS AFFECTING THE INTENTION TO CHOOSE THE DESTINATION OF PHU QUOC OF STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AT KIEN GIANG UNIVERSITY

Based on the theory of service satisfaction by Parasuraman et al. (1985), this study conducted a survey on 121 students of the Faculty of Economics at Kien Giang University, then used descriptive statistical analysis, reliability testing (Cronbach's Alpha), exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and multivariate regression analysis. The research results have identified 03 factors that have positive impacts on the intention to choose Phu Quoc of students of the Faculty of Economics at Kien Giang University. They are "destination image", "attitude" and "subjective norms". One factor that negatively affects the intention to choose Phu Quoc of students of the Faculty of Economics at Kien Giang University is "control behavior". From the results of analysis and discussion, the research has proposed a number of solutions to consolidate and improve the application of theory on students' intention to choose Phu Quoc destination. In particular, it is necessary that local management agencies increase the frequency of visual communication and promotion to Phu Quoc destination to students; food and beverage businesses also need to diversify high-quality services in restaurants to meet the needs of students, to attract and satisfy young tourists coming to Phu Quoc.

FACTORS AFFECTING TO THE APPLICATION OF BALANCED SCORECARD – A CASE STUDY OF VNPT LAM DONG BUSINESS CENTER

The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) model is one of the contemporary management methods to help businesses comprehensively assess the completion and effectiveness of their business strategy through financial and non-financial indicators. This method has been implemented at Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) over the years. Through practical application at VNPT Lam Dong Business Center, the study was conducted to explore the critical factors for successful implementation of BSC in the context of Vietnamese enterprises. The data was collected through a survey of all staff at the center. Regression analysis shows that the ease of use, usefulness, leadership involvement, corporate culture and internal communication are the factors that have positive impacts on the implementation of this method. The study provides statistical evidence and governance implications for other businesses that intend to implement BCS.

SOLUTIONS TO STRENGTHEN MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH INSURANCE SPENDING AT SOCIAL INSURANCE OF LAO CAI PROVINCE

Health insurance is one of the most important social security policies of the Party and State with humanitarian significance and profound community sharing. It is the main pillar of the social security system, contributing to progress, social justice, socio-political stability and socio-economic development. This fund contributes to realizing the goal of social justice in people's health care, making important contributions to implementing the policy of socializing medicine of our Party and State. The article focuses on clarifying the current status of health insurance spending management in the period 2021 - 2023, while pointing out the limitations and causes of the limitations. Thereby, it proposes some solutions to strengthen the management of health insurance spending at Lao Cai Provincial Social Insurance in the period 2024-2026.

ANALYSIS OF FACTORS INFLUENCING SATISFACTION OF HEALTH INSURANCE PARTICIPANTS AT BINH AN HOSPITAL IN KIEN GIANG PROVINCE

Through conducting a survey of 215 health insurance participants for medical examination and treatment at Binh An Hospital and conducting data analysis using Cronbach's Alpha test and exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The study has identified six factors affecting the satisfaction of people participating in health insurance when undergoing medical examination and treatment at Binh An Hospital with the level of impact from high to low respectively: (1) Respect and thoughtfulness, (2) Information, (3) Facilities, (4) Efficiency and continuity, (5) Reputation, (6) Reasonable payment. From the results of the analysis, the research has made conclusions and proposed some policy implications and solutions to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment services to bring satisfaction to patients.

IMPACTS OF THE NEW STRATEGY ON ETHNIC MINORITY WORK ON THE LABOR MARKET PARTICIPATION OF THE ELDERLY IN REMOTE AREAS OF VIETNAM

This study was conducted to evaluate the impacts of the Ethnic Minority Work Strategy for the period 2013-2020 on the labor market participation of elderly people in remote areas of Vietnam. By using the DID double difference model and event study techniques, combined with large analytical data from the Vietnam Household Living Standard Survey over 5 rounds (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 và 2018), the research results show that the ethnic affairs strategy for the period 2013-2020 has a positive impact and helps strongly promote (about 3.6 percentage points) the elderly (from 61-70 years old) in remote areas to participate in the labor market. The analysis also confirms that elderly workers in this area are still mainly engaged in agricultural work while the 2013 policy has no impact on jobs in other sectors such as salaried jobs or other non-agricultural jobs. The results of this research also provide managers with useful information in designing and promulgating relevant policies in the future.

TRENDS IN LABOR SHIFT AND THEIR IMPACTS ON LABOR PRODUCTIVITY INCREASE IN SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

This study aims to analyze the trends in labor structure shifts as well as the contributions of three effective factors including the effect of increasing productivity in internal sectors, the static transfer effect, and the dynamic transfer effect on the increase in labor productivity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thai Nguyen province. Based on statistical data extracted from the provincial statistical yearbook of Thai Nguyen, the study uses the accounting quantification method to analyze the secondary data. The research results show that the average annual increase in labor productivity of SMEs in Thai Nguyen province is 23.32%, with the largest contribution coming from the effect of increasing productivity in internal sectors, followed by the static transfer effect, while the dynamic transfer effect somewhat hampers the overall increase in labor productivity of SMEs.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY OF TEA HOUSEHOLDS IN THAI NGUYEN CITY, THAINGUYEN PROVINCE

This study aims to analyze technical and environmental efficiency, as well as to point out the factors affecting the efficiency of tea farms in Thai Nguyen city. By using the stochastic frontier analysis, the results showed that the technical and environmental efficiency of tea households are quite good, of 81% and 77%, respectively. In addition, the findings revealed that age, education and experience of the household head had positive effects on environmental and technical efficiency scores. The factors related to the distance from farm to market and household size indicated a negative impact on technical efficiency as well as environmental efficiency. The results also investigated that solutions to improve technical and environmental efficiency of tea farms include technological change, education level as well as policy mechanisms.

THE ABILITY TO ACCESS OFFICIAL CREDIT OF POOR HOUSEHOLDS IN THE MOUNTAINOUS AREAS OF THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

This study was conducted with the purpose of examining the access to official credit by poor households, using cross-sectional data taken from a survey of 300 poor households in mountainous areas of Thai Nguyen province. The study applies the Probit model to identify the factors that affect the ability to access official credit and the Tobit model to determine the factors affecting the amount of loan. The research results show that the factors affecting the access to credit of households include age, ethnicity, education, labor ratio, main occupation, non-production assets, and residential land. The factors affecting the amount of loan by households include age, ethnicity, household members, main occupation, non-production assets, and residential land.

EVALUATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LONG-TERM LIABILITIES AND FIRM PERFORMANCE OF LISTED FIRMS IN VIETNAM

Long-term liabilities are an important indicator for analyzing a firm's debt structure and evaluating its long-term financial situation. In the wake of the global economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, assessing long-term liabilities has become even more crucial in helping firms understand financial trends, assess the effectiveness of financial management, and evaluate overall firm performance. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between long-term liabilities and firm performance of listed firms in Vietnam during the period of 2019-2021. The results of this study indicate a negative correlation between long-term liabilities and firm performance in the research period. These findings can be used to make recommendations for improving firm performance by effectively managing long-term liabilities

IMPULSIVE BUYING ON LIVE STREAMING PLATFORMS: APPLYING THE ELABORATION LIKELIHOOD MODEL (ELM)

The Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) was developed by Petty and Cacioppo (1986), explaining the process of changing individuals' attitudes and opinions about an object or event after their consideration process. This study applies the ELM model to understand customers' purchasing behavior when participating in shopping on livestreaming platforms. The study conducted a survey of 368 observations from customers shopping on livestreaming platforms. The study performs data processing and analysis using SPSS and SmartPLS tools to test the relationship between variables according to the research model. The research results indicate that three central factors in the direct approach (quality of product information, quality of host interaction, and host credibility); and one factor in the indirect approach (consistency of evaluations) play significant roles in enhancing customer engagement and impulse buying tendencies in the e-commerce market. From the research results, the author proposes some implications to make livestreaming commercial activities of businesses more effective.

ASSESSING THE PERFORMANCE OF JOINT STOCK COMMERCIAL BANKS WITHOUT STATE CAPITAL IN VIETNAM: THE TRADITIONAL APPROACH

The study aims to evaluate the performance of joint-stock commercial banks without Vietnamese state capital in the period 2018–2022, using the traditional approach - analyzing groups of financial indicators. The research results show an overall picture of the banks’ operations through groups of profitability indices (return on total assets, return on equity), safety indices (return on total assets, return on equity), safety indices (capital adequacy ratio, bad debt ratio), and liquidity indices (asset liquid reserve ratio and loan to total asset ratio). Based on the results, the authors propose some recommendations to improve the operational efficiency of joint-stock commercial banks without state capital in Vietnam.

INFORMAL CREDIT FOR POOR HOUSEHOLDS: A CASE STUDY IN THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

This study aims to assess the demand for informal credit, the status of access, and the purpose of using informal credit by poor households in Thai Nguyen province, with primary data from a survey of 300 poor households. The results show that the rate of poor households accessing informal credit is relatively high through various forms such as borrowing from siblings, friends, neighbors; usury (high-interest); borrowing through community groups; private credit and pawn services. The purposes of using informal credit by poor households are diverse and have little significant impacts on poverty reduction.

APPLYING MICHAEL PORTER'S DIAMOND MODEL TO ANALYZE COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE IN EXPORTING VIETNAM’S RICE

ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY OF GUAVA GROWING HOUSEHOLDS IN THAI NGUYEN CITY

The research focuses on 3 groups of subjects with three guava growing scale: small, medium and large scale in Thai Nguyen city. Participatory rapid rural assessment survey method, direct data collection, descriptive statistical analysis, statistical disaggregation, and comparison method are used to clarify the proposed research objectives. The results show the economic efficiency of guava growing households in Thai Nguyen city and indicate that guava trees have an important role in the process of agricultural economic development, increasing the income of guava growing households in Thai Nguyen city. The average guava growing area of each household is 12.4 Northern rods, the cost of production is 7.35 million VND per rod. The average total production value reaches 21.27 million VND/rod. The economic efficiency of guava production of farming households in Thai Nguyen city is relatively high and there is a reasonable choice of input factors. Between different groups of households, there are different economic results and efficiency. The group of large-scale households has the highest economic efficiency in terms of both capital use efficiency and labor use efficiency. The results and economic efficiency of guava production are clearly influenced by many factors such as natural conditions, land resources, labor and human resources. The main solutions should focus on improving the economic efficiency of guava growing such as the access to agricultural extension service, land solutions, market solutions, capital supporting and other groups of solutions, which are necessary for guava growing households.

EVALUATING THE SATISFACTION LEVELS OF PETROLEUM BUSINESS UNITS AT THE TECHNICAL CENTER FOR QUALITY MEASUREMENT STANDARDS IN TIEN GIANG PROVINCE

The study aims to evaluate how petroleum business units are satisfied with the measurement inspection services provided for petroleum measuring columns at the Technical Center for Quality Measurement Standards in Tien Giang province. We collected 220 questionnaires from leaders of petroleum business units in the province, out of which 198 were valid for analysis. We used various methods, including scale reliability testing, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), correlation, and regression analysis with SPSS version 20 to evaluate the data. Our research results indicate that six factors affect the satisfaction of petroleum business units, namely: Trust (β= 0.263), Customers’ technical knowledge (β= 0.187), Responsiveness (β= 0.171), Service capacity (β= 0.166), Empathy (β= 0.099), and Perceived price (β= 0.019). Based on the influence of these factors, we recommend several solutions to help increase the satisfaction of petroleum business units with the inspection services provided by authorities in Tien Giang province.

DEVELOPING TOURISM IN DAI TU DISTRICT, THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Dai Tu district is known for its many beautiful and attractive landscapes, favorable for tourism development. However, exploiting tourism in Dai Tu has not been effective. The study uses both secondary and primary data with descriptive statistics and comparative methods to analyze and evaluate the current state of tourism development in the district. The results show that tourism in Dai Tu still has many limitations in terms of scale and service quality, and lacks its own specific mechanism. Moreover, tourism products are poor, the number of visitors is not high, and tourism activities are still fragmented. There is a lack of systematic investment, poor communication, limited facilities and equipment; and the workforce lacks knowledge and has weak skills. Thereby, the study proposes a number of solutions to maximize tourism potential for tourism activities in Dai Tu district, promoting local economic development.

Ứng dụng phương pháp học máy nghiên cứu ảnh hưởng của các quyết định tài chính đến giá trị doanh nghiệp

This study utilizes machine learning models and traditional statistical methods to analyze the impact of financial decisions on the value of listed firms in Vietnam. The data used in the article was collected from 646 listed firms on the HOSE and HNX exchanges from 2012 to 2022. The study experimented with the dataset using machine learning models: Linear Regression (LR), LASSO, Generalized Additive Model (GAM), Random Forests (RF), Gradient Boosting Regression Trees (GBRT), single-layer and feed-forward neural networks (NN), as well as traditional statistical methods. The results indicate a positive correlation between investment and financing decisions and firm value during the research period. Additionally, the impact of dividend payment decisions on company value is statistically insignificant. Based on these results, the article suggests recommendations to help firms make suitable financial decisions.
