Artificial intelligence (ai) in water resource management
Abstract
In the context of increasing water resource challenges and the expanding impact of climate change, water resource management has become more critical than ever. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a pivotal tool with the potential to enhance water resource management. This study focused on the role and potential of AI in water resource management and proposed solutions for effectively applying AI in this field. The main challenge of applying AI in water resource management lies in the complexity of the natural environment and climate change factors. AI can predict to some extent, but it cannot entirely foresee the uncertainties caused by these factors. The intricate interactions between variables are also a challenge as water resource management involves numerous interacting elements that AI must grapple with. Furthermore, the application of AI in water resource management also faces political and social challenges, as changes in water management processes may face opposition from existing economic or societal interests. This study proposed several solutions for the effective application of AI in water resource management, including small and medium-scale testing, legal framework development, workforce training, and data preparation. These solutions can help to optimize water resource management, minimize waste, and ensure sustainability for future water resources.
