FACTORS AFFECTING LAND REVENUE IN VIETNAM
Abstract
Land revenue is important in ensuring financial resources for socio-economic development in Vietnam. This is a major revenue channel, contributing to infrastructure construction, urbanization development, and improving the quality of public services. This study applies Bayesian regression to analyze factors affecting land revenue in provinces and cities of Vietnam in the period 2006 - 2022. The results show that per capita GDP, trade openness, FDI, and urbanization rate positively impact land revenue, while the unemployment rate reduces this revenue. The research results imply that Vietnam needs to focus on policies to promote economic growth, improve institutions, and increase trade openness while controlling unemployment and promoting sustainable urbanization to increase land revenue.
