Abstract

The main defensive area in a military district’s defensive operations is the area of decisive importance to the defensive posture, where the adversary concentrates its forces and means to seize objectives and which the military district is determined to defend. When employing forces to engage and defeat the adversary’s airborne forces in order to hold the main defensive area, consideration must be given to the scale, forces, and operational methods of the adversary, our own operational capabilities, and the terrain and weather conditions in the area of operations, so as to employ forces appropriately and contribute to defeating the adversary’s airborne forces.
