Abstract

In the context of hostile forces continuously intensifying their “peaceful evolution” strategy and exploiting cyberspace to distort and deny the Party’s ideological foundation, culture and the arts are increasingly affirming their role as a “soft front” with exceptional power to disseminate and influence. This article analyzes the theoretical basis for the role of culture and the arts in safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation; identifies misguided manifestations in contemporary cultural and artistic life that need to be recognized and addressed; and, on that basis, proposes several solutions to further promote the effectiveness of the power of culture and the arts, particularly within the military environment, in safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation under the new conditions.
