BUDDHIST LANDSCAPES IN VIETNAMESE FILMS

Abstract

In
 Vietnamese
 films,
 elements
 of
 the
 cultural
 and
 social
 landscape
 dominate
 and
 impact
 the
 character's
characteristics,
personality
and
nuances.
The
element
of
religious
space
in
general
in
the
film
landscape
also
contributes
to
creating
unique
nuances,
conveying
to
listeners
and
viewers
an
image
of
life,
spiritual
space
as
well
as
customary
elements
,
customs,
beliefs,
govern
the
personality
and
lifestyle
of
movie
characters.
In
particular,
Buddhism
is
a
religion
with
deep
vitality,
lasting
roots,
closeness,
and
affection
for
every
Vietnamese
person,
not
only
in
terms
of
cultural
philosophy,
ideology,
ethics,
but
especially
art,
film.
The
article
initially
approaches
landscape
theory
to
point
out
the
element
of
religious
space,
specifically
Buddhism,
in
Vietnamese
films
through
some
typical
films.
