Abstract

Located in Xuan Dinh ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi city, the records of Dinh Gian historic and cultural relics may be traced again to a very early age, via documents, relics, in addition to legends which have been passed down from generations to generations of families, stay withinside the village. However, throughout its lengthy existence, the village hall turned into repaired and multiplied many times, the present-day epitaph simplest shows the time of renovation, the earliest time we could located was at the Nguyen Dynasty. According to the legend of the village, the God of Cao Dinh village is enshrined withinside the village's communal temple is the General Ly Phuc Man. Thank to the victory of the battle, his was given the name Ly Phuc Man and the Second Lieutenant identity. The King also gave him a role in court as a reward. Later on, during a unexxpected battle with the Champa army, the General's army had to face with lack of foods and no reinforcements, so in the end, the General commited suicide.Mourning for the life of the General, in order to remember him, the people brought his body back to be buried in Yen So village, next to Ho Ma. According to the legend in Gian village, once the villager picked up a drifting treasured wood, they used it to build a village hall and went to Yen So village to ask for the title and ancestral tablet of the General Ly Phuc Man to worship and make him their village's God. Since then, the two villages have been closely related through village festivals to commemorate the General Ly Phuc Man.
