MATERIAL CULTURAL CHANGES OF TEOCHEW ETHNIC PEOPLE IN VINH CHAU – SOC TRANG TODAY

Abstract

Teochew people in Vinh Chau, Soc Trang provice have rich and diverse culture and have made many contributions to the overall development of Vietnamese culture. However, in the process of settling in the new land, the economic and cultural development and the exchange and contact with other ethnic groups have changed the culture of the Teochew Chinese community drastically about physically and mentally. The article analyzes and evaluates some changes in material culture, identifies the factors affecting that change of Teochew Chinese in Vinh Chau, Soc Trang. Thereby contributing to the conservation and promote ethnic cultural values in the current context.
