THE ORIGINAL OF THE RABANA DRUM OF THE CHAM MUSLIM IN AN GIANG
Abstract
Rabana is a type of traditional drum of the Cham people in An Giang. Currently, some Cham villages in An Giang still keep some old Rabana drums for community cultural activities. Many stories about the origin of this ancient drum still need to be researched and clarified. Therefore, within the scope of this article's research, by fielding activities in some Cham villages in An Giang, by interviewing some Cham people who participated in performing activities, making Rabana drums with the same method synthesize and analyze domestic and foreign documents with the goal of contributing to finding out the origin of formation and development of the traditional musical instrument Rabana, serving the research of traditional Cham music and instruments.
