HÁT XOAN SINGING AS A CASE OF GLOCALIZATION꞉ AN ANALYSIS OF THE RECONFIGURATION OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE IN VIETNAM'S URBAN CONTEXT

This article examines Xoan singing in Phu Tho province as a representative case of cultural glocalization in the
safeguarding and revitalization of intangible cultural heritage in contemporary Vietnam. Under the influences
of globalization, urbanization, and digital transformation, Xoan singing ‑ once a sacred village‑based ritual ‑
has undergone profound reconfiguration in its social actors, spatial settings, performance forms, musical
aesthetics, costumes, and functions. Drawing on ethnographic data, governmental reports, and secondary
sources (2011–2024), the study adopts an anthropological and cultural approach, employing the theoretical
frameworks of glocalization and heritage reconfiguration to interpret the adaptive mechanisms of this heritage
practice. The findings indicate that Xoan singing has evolved into a form of dynamic heritage, simultaneously
maintaining ritual authenticity and flexibly adapting to urban environments and global media networks. This
paper contributes to theoretical discussions on cultural glocalization in intangible heritage studies and proposes
the concept of “dynamic conservation” as an alternative approach to contemporary cultural governance in
Vietnam.

NATIONAL INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE VALUES IN QUANG NINH꞉ FROM SYSTEMATIZATION TO ORIENTATIONS FOR CONSERVATION AND PROMOTION

Amid Quang Ninh's ongoing economic transition from a “brown” to a “green” growth model, intangible
cultural heritage (ICH) has been increasingly recognized as a nucleus endogenous resource underpinning
sustainable development. With nineteen ICH elements inscribed at the national level, the province possesses a
culturally rich and diverse heritage landscape, yet it also confronts mounting challenges arising from
globalization, and pressures of tourism commercialization. This article systematizes the values of Quang
Ninh's 19 national ICH elements through an analytical framework comprising three groups꞉ intrinsic values,
socio‑community values, and applied–developmental values. It further analyzes the current state of heritage
management to identify key achievements, persisting constraints, and potential risks—including tendencies
toward “performative staging” and interruptions in intergenerational transmission. Drawing on these findings,
the study proposes a set of comprehensive solutions that emphasize policy improvement, empowerment of the
community's pivotal role as the primary heritage bearer and custodian, application of digital technologies, and
the development of heritage‑driven tourism products with substantive cultural depth which aim to foster the
sustainable conservation and meaningful promotion of intangible cultural heritage values in the evolving
contemporary context.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF COASTAL AND ISLAND TOURISM IN QUẢNG NGÃI PROVINCE THROUGH REGIONAL LINKAGE MECHANISMS

In the context of tourism emerging as a key economic sector in Viet Nam, regional linkage has become an
increasingly important strategy for optimizing resource utilization, reducing intra‑regional competition, and
enhancing socio‑economic efficiency. Quảng Ngãi Province, endowed with notable advantages in coastal and
island tourism as well as geological and cultural heritage, is currently facing significant development
opportunities alongside internal limitations and growing competitive pressures. This study analyzes the
potential and challenges of developing coastal and island tourism in Quảng Ngãi from a sustainability

In recent years, Vietnam's tourism sector has grown rapidly thanks to digital transformation and increasing
demand for experiences. Digital platforms, smart tourism applications, and online media have created
opportunities to promote destinations, enhance visitor experiences, and optimize tourist behavior management.
However, unsustainable tourist behaviors ‑ such as overexploitation of resources, negative environmental
impacts, or disregard for local cultural values ‑ remain common, highlighting the need to guide tourists toward
more responsible actions. This article outlines concepts of digital enablement, behavior management, and
sustainable tourism, while clarifying the link between tourist behavior management and the managerial
capacity of tourism enterprises in the context of digital transformation. Based on this, the author proposes a
strategic framework for managing sustainable tourist behavior through effective use of digital tools, helping
tourists make responsible choices and contributing to the sustainable development of tourism in Vietnam.

OUTDOOR ADVERTISING AND URBAN SPACE MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES IN THANH HOA PROVINCE

This article analyzes the current state of outdoor advertising and the challenges of urban space management in
Thanh Hoa Province‑ a locality experiencing rapid urbanization and tourism growth. The study reveals that
outdoor advertising in Thanh Hoa has expanded significantly in recent years but remains largely uncoordinated,
resulting in issues such as unlicensed advertisements, encroachment on public spaces, and inconsistent design,
all of which negatively affect urban aesthetics and local identity. From the perspective of urban management
science, outdoor advertising is examined not merely as a form of communication or commercial activity but as a
structural component of urban landscapes that requires integrated, transparent, and technology‑driven
governance.

The article focuses on analyzing the current state of development of some art industries in Vietnam (music,
cinema, theater, fine arts, photography) in the context of digital transformation, pointing out remarkable
achievements such as the ability to expand creative space, reach a wide audience, promote technological
innovation, as well as existing problems such as copyright infringement, uneven content quality, challenges in
management and cultural orientation, thereby proposing a number of solutions for sustainable development of
art industries in the digital age. The article affirms that digital transformation is not only a challenge but also an
opportunity for Vietnamese art to affirm its position, both preserving national cultural identity and integrating
with the global flow.

twenty years, this was a significant and memorable phase following national reunification.

THE ART OF SHAPING CHINESE CHARACTERS IN THE DECORATION OF LAI THIEU CERAMIC ELEPHANT STANDS

In the process of researching traditional Vietnamese art, the art of shaping Chinese characters in the decoration
of Lai Thieu ceramic elephant stands is a subject of academic and aesthetic significance but has not yet been
systematically studied. This topic poses a requirement to identify the aesthetic value, symbolism and cultural
identity of Southern ceramics, where Chinese characters go beyond the linguistic function to become the
central shaping element, linking symbolic thinking with folk aesthetics. The research employs survey and
f
ieldwork methods, combined with formal and symbolic analyses, through observation, photography and
interviews with artisans at Lai Thieu pottery facilities. The results show that the Chinese character are
sculpturalized into an independent decorative motif, harmonizing between shapes, blocks and enamel colors,
clearly demonstrating the flexible shaping thinking and creativity of the artisan.
From there, it can be seen that the inscriptions on these ceramic elephant stands do not only has artistic value but
also serve as evidence of the Vietnamization of Sinological elements, reflecting the spirit of cultural synthesis
and the distinctive aesthetics of traditional Vietnamese ceramic art.

THE DECORATIVE ART OF HUE NHÀ RƯỜNG HOUSES IN CONTEMPORARY INTERIOR DESIGN

This study proposes an approach of “conservation through creation,” integrating traditional knowledge with
contemporary design in order to construct an application framework for Hue nhà rường motifs in interior
design. Through aesthetic ‑ symbolic analysis, comparative art methods, and references to international models
of adaptive conservation, the research identifies three core values꞉ (1) a restrained and balanced formal
language; (2) a symbolic system grounded in Eastern aesthetic philosophy; and (3) a spirit of harmony among
nature, human beings, and the universe. Based on these findings, the paper proposes a set of principles for
contemporary interior design inspired by the spirit of Hue nhà rường houses, focusing on the transformation of
motifs, materials, lighting, and spatial structure. The main contribution of the study lies in establishing a
theoretical framework for applying artistic heritage to interior design with a distinctly Vietnamese identity in
the context of globalization

This article focuses on surveying and analyzing the sculptural characteristics in the decorative ceramic mosaic
art at Khai Dinh Mausoleum ‑ a typical example of Nguyen Dynasty court art, a place that embodies the
aesthetic essence and design thinking of the Vietnamese people in the early 20th century. By combining theories
of traditional aesthetics, visual semiotics, and brand identity, the article not only clarifies the heritage value of
court mosaic art but also opens up a new approach in connecting heritage with the creative economy. Based on
identifying characteristic motifs in lines, composition, and materials in ceramic mosaic art, the study aims to
propose the possibility of applying these elements to the design of packaging, souvenirs, and local cultural
products.

NGUYỄN DYNASTY COURT COSTUME AESTHETICS IN CONTEMPORARY STREET FASHION DESIGN FOR YOUNG WOMEN

Although most song lyrics were directly composed by musicians, literature left a profound imprint on both the
content and expressive form of revolutionary songs. Literary influence is manifested in two main ways꞉
indirectly through imagery, language, rhythm, and rhetorical devices; and directly through musical adaptations
of revolutionary poetry. Based on an analysis of selected representative songs, this article elucidates specific
manifestations of literary influence in song lyrics, thereby affirming the artistic, ideological, educational, and
historical value of Vietnamese revolutionary songs during the 1954 ‑ 1975 period.

significant role in stimulating attention, concentration, and motor responses. This article analyzes the
role of rhythmic duration in music education for children with ASD, clarifying its function in fostering
musical perception as well as related supportive skills. Based on this analysis, the study proposes
music education activities centered on the perception and expression of duration, including rhythmic
pattern recognition, meter awareness, and movement‑based activities such as percussion and visual
representation. The findings indicate that utilizing rhythmic duration in music education not only
enhances musical abilities but also supports adaptability, communication, and social integration in
children with ASD, offering a practical approach for contemporary special education.

symbolic significance of the color palette, and the interplay between colors and figurative elements within royal
artistic spaces. The study demonstrates that Phap Lam enamel color transcends mere technical application to
become a sophisticated vehicle for philosophical and emotional expression. Based on these findings, the author
proposes practical applications of the Phap Lam color language in art education and contemporary applied arts.
These directions aim to foster aesthetic competence, design thinking, and heritage preservation awareness
among art students and practitioners in the modern context.

ngành nghệ thuật. Bài viết tập trung hệ thống hóa ba mô hình lý thuyết tiêu biểu về trí tuệ cảm xúc bao gồm꞉ mô
hình năng lực, mô hình năng lực ‑ xã hội và mô hình trí tuệ cảm xúc mở rộng, làm rõ mối liên hệ giữa trí tuệ cảm
xúc và đặc điểm tâm lý của sinh viên nghệ thuật ‑ nhóm đối tượng giàu cảm xúc, nhạy cảm với phản hồi xã hội và
có thiên hướng biểu đạt cá nhân hóa cao. Bên cạnh đó, bài viết cũng đề cập đến tầm quan trọng của trí tuệ cảm
xúc trong giáo dục đào tạo nghệ thuật. Từ đó, bài viết đề xuất các định hướng phát triển trí tuệ cảm xúc trong đào
tạo nghệ thuật. Việc phát triển trí tuệ cảm xúc được xác định là chiến lược trọng tâm, nhằm góp phần nâng cao
