Neurocutaneous melanosis: Neurocutaneous melanosis: A case report and literature review
Abstract
Neurocutaneous melanosis is a rare congenital disorder which presents with congenital cutaneous nevi and involvement of the central nervous system. Here we present a rare case of a 27-year-old mem who had central nervous system melanosis and giant congenital melanocytic nevi. A brain computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a high-density lesion in the left temporal lobe, suggesting hemorrhage, no vascular abnormality was seen on CT angiography (CTA). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed occupying lesions in the left temporal lobe, leptomeningeal with high signals on T1WI and isosignals on T2WI, and with significant enhancement after administration of gadolinium. The confirmed diagnosis is established by surgical tissue and leptomeningeal biospy
