The relationship between adaptive leadership and employee engagement in construction enterprises in Vietnam
Abstract
Adaptive leadership is defined as a leader’s ability to practice leadership styles or behaviors appropriate to the demands of a given situation or organizational environment. Employee engagement, a positive, fulfilling work-related psychological state characterized by vigor, dedication, and absorption, has been closely linked to higher productivity, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. This study investigates how adaptive leadership influences the engagement levels of construction workers in Vietnam via in-depth interviews and qualitative analysis, aiming to provide a rich contextual understanding of the relationship between adaptive leadership and employee engagement in the construction sector in Vietnam. The findings from this qualitative research can contribute to the theoretical understanding of adaptive leadership’s influence on employee engagement.
