Abstract
This article proposes methods for applying the theory of ethical literary criticism to teaching reading comprehension of the literary text “Lục Vân Tiên cứu Kiều Nguyệt Nga,” as included in the 9th-grade literature curriculum of the Creative Horizons Textbook Series. The article first demonstrates the feasibility of integrating ethical literary criticism into reading comprehension instruction for this classical text. It then presents specific implementation strategies across several dimensions: the essential requirements, the proposed approaches, and a framework of questions designed for reading comprehension instruction through the lens of ethical literary criticism.
