Developing mathematical modeling competence for students in teaching math in english grade 11 topic “Sequence- Arithmetic sequence - Geometric sequence”

Abstract

Mathematical modeling competence is one of the five mathematical capacities that need to be formed for students, specified in the General Education Program in Mathematics since 2018. Therefore, in teaching Mathematics, developing mathematical modeling competence for students is essential. In this article, we select exercises on the topic “sequence- arithmetic sequence - geometric sequence” in English that are related to reality and teaching plan to develop mathematical modeling competence for students. Teaching has helped students solve practical problems, understand the relationship between mathematics and practice, and form and develop mathematical modeling competence for students.
